She was born to Liza and William Gray on a misty morning. Her brother,
David, was the second person to hold her because William had passed out on the floor
(he did the same when David was born). Her brother is five years older than her and
welcomed her into the family.

Since both of her parents were teachers, they never really went anywhere. During her
childhood, they had few vacations but were content to stay home and tend to their
small gardens. David really like their gardens and it showed.

All though school, both she and David got good grades. Oh, they had their ups and
downs, but it wasn’t a big deal. One day, Liza asked her daughter if she had thought
about being joined. Willow thought about it for a moment before saying no. Willow
thought that it wouldn’t allow her to live her own life. “It’s like having someone
watch over you all the time. Why would I want that?” was her answer. Liza just
smiled and walked away.

When David got out of high school, he had thought about Starfleet, but turned them
down. Instead, he started his own winery with his best friend, Steffen. A few years
would go by before anyone noticed the fact that they were more than just friends.
When Willow caught them making out, David tried to explain what was going on to the
17-year-old. Willow just smiled and welcomed Steffen into the family.

“It’s about time!” Willow said. David and Willow were really close after that.
Although it had been a shock to their parents, Liza was soon planning the wedding.
The year David and Steffen got married was the year Willow went off to Starfleet
Academy. She decided that she wanted to become a scientist and figure out the way
things worked. Just how did dark matter survive? What made a star?

She worked hard and earned good grades. However, she had earned a reputation for
being a bit on the wild side when it came down to it. Although she had no steady
boyfriends, she did have boy friends. She dated when she could and studied hard. She
graduated in the top 10% of her class.

She was assigned to the USS Kittery as a science officer. The chief science officer,
at that time, was Lt. Kemp Jas. The two became fast friends, with a little something
on the side. Once in a while, they couldn’t keep away from each other. She thought
she found the one, the man that she would settle down with at one point.

However, that would all come to a sudden stop when Kemp was killed on an away
mission. To keep the symbiont alive, she had to become the host. Of course, she went
though many tests before hand, but since the Kittery was so far away from Trill,
there was only one way to save Jas. When Willow and Jas were joined, she cried. It
was only then that she knew how Kemp had felt for her and how much he had wanted her
as his wife.

After being promoted to LT jg, she got reassigned to the USS Maine as the Asst.
Chief Science Officer. It was hard for Willow to adjust to Jas, but it worked out
alright. Although she didn’t like some of the advice that Jas would give her, she
soon saw that he was right most of the time. She now has memories of five different
people, two men and three women.
