Personality Arianna is a quiet person, she prefers to hide in the shadows and not be seen. Angst is her life, no one in her family understood her, and was constantly trying to push her to be more like one of her ancestors that died saving others in the Eugenic Wars. But that is not for her, she is a background person who only wants to live and not have to live up to someone else’s example.
Background Arianna was born as the youngest child of eight. They lived in the Southeastern region of Colorado, in a town called La Junta, and had lived there as far back as anyone could remember. Her parents Micah and Adeline Abbott had been genetic engineers, and were in their later years at the time that Arianna was born. Her closest sibling in age was Jacob who was 15 when she was born. The next was Jessica who was 16, Jasmine who was 17, Isaac who was 18, Adrian who was 19, Alexandra who was 21, and Adam who was 25. Both Micah and Adeline had been only children, and both sets of their parents had died two years before Arianna was born.

Growing up Arianna was the last to get everything, food, clothes, toys, and anything else, she was always the last to get them. She didn’t mind though, for she didn’t like to stand out anyway. From birth her family knew she was going to be different, she had been born small, and there had been many complications during her birth. As she left home for school she found she had a hunger to learn, and constantly she would amaze teachers and parents alike as she learned things way beyond her years. When she was 8 her parents had been called in to some secret meeting. Being the only child still living at home she went with her parents, and sat outside during the meeting. She had no idea what the meeting was about, but she kept hearing her name, she thought she had done something wrong. She kept hearing someone say that her parents had done something to her, but she didn’t understand what they were saying. When they got home she went to her room and sat down with her computer terminal and started looking up some big words. The next day she was awoke early, and taken to a doctor, some blood and other samples were taken, then she was put in some machines that took scans of her body. When this was all done they were sent home. Everything went back to normal for a few days. Except for the weird message, supposedly some long lost relative from long ago had been found on another planet, and he had was trying to contact any family he might have. Other than that everything was normal, then the security team showed up. They stormed the house everyone was put to sleep and they were taken somewhere. When Arianna woke up, it was to a nurse calling her Abigail. “My name is Arianna.”

“I am sorry, I was told your name was Abigail. How are you feeling?”

“Confused, not to mention a little angry. Where is my family?”

“They are in other rooms; there is no need to be angry; we are only trying to figure something out.”

“Then why didn’t you just ask us to come in, why the swat team?”

“That is not your concern young lady, you just need to relax; you are in no danger.”

“Hmmf that is easy for you to say. Tell me what is genetics?”

“Why do you want to know about that, no 8 year old should be worrying about that stuff?”

“Well it is what all of this is about isn’t it? That is what I heard the people talking to my parents about.”

“Well young lady perhaps you should let your Parents worry about that, it is their job after all.”

“Yes, but that still doesn’t explain why the swat team stormed our house and took us all. Does this have anything to do with those tests I was put through the other day?”

“Young Lady, stop worrying about this, you are not old enough to understand anything that is going on; so let the adults worry about it.” The nurse then left the room and secured the doors.

This was her life for a couple weeks. Then one day they were all released and sent home. For weeks afterwards at school Arianna was left alone by everyone, none of her friends would talk to her, bullies targeted her. When she got home she would be covered in mud, have black eyes, or just be so harassed that she was frazzled that she would just go to her room and lock the door. As the years went by this became her lifestyle, she would close people out, she spent her time in music her school work, and other things that would keep her away from people and alone.

This was when it all started, her family would understand her, she stopped going to school, as there was nothing the teachers could teach her that she hadn’t already learned. At 12 she was doing school work that college seniors wouldn’t touch. Her parents finally just pulled her out of school and allowed her to just learn on her own as she was doing just fine.

A month after her 13 birthday, her entire family was in a shuttle on the way to a vacation spot in Hawaii. The shuttle had a malfunction and on an uncharted island in the middle of the Pacific, the shuttle crashed killing everyone except Arianna who was in the back of the shuttle sleeping. She was saved from the crash by the sleeping chamber. When she woke up in the hospital she was scared that something had happened like before, when she looked around a nurse walk in. “Oh good we were starting to worry that we had missed something and there was some hidden wounds that were keeping you asleep.”

“What do you mean, where is my family?”

“Oh… umm, I am sorry dear, they didn’t make it.”

“MAKE IT WHAT DO YOU MEAN MAKE IT, MAKE WHAT?”

“Calm down, there was a crash, the shuttle you and your family was in crashed, on an island.”

“Wha… what, you mean none of them survived, I am alone?”

“I am sorry dear, yes, but we think we may have found another relative, he is on a starship. We are trying to contact him now.”

Arianna laid there for a minute then looked up, “What another relative? That’s impossible; all my relatives were on that shuttle.”

“Well according to your DNA he is related to you. His name is Wayne Abbott.”

“Oh please, that is funny, he is dead. He has been dead for 3 centuries.”

“Well dear, perhaps he is a distant relative with the same name as this person you say is dead.”

“Ugg I just hope he is nothing like his name sake, it is bad enough my family always wanted me to live up to his example. He was a hero in the Eugenic wars, gave his life for others or something like that.”

“Well that doesn’t seem like that bad of an example to live up to. But I doubt this is the same person, as LTJG Wayne Abbott is a linguist on the USS London it is a flagship. Sounds exciting don’t you think?”

“Hrmm, the London that sounds familiar. I am sure I have heard about it somewhere.”

“Well you just rest darling, let us take care of everything, I will bring you some food in a bit okay.”

“Yeah sure, can I have a computer too? I would like to look some stuff up.”

“I’ll see what I can do.”

After a while the nurse came back in with a tray of food and a computer. As she ate Arianna started searching for this LTJG Wayne Abbott, and the USS London, she found both. There was a lot of weird information on Wayne, he had been found on some distant uninhabited planet in a stasis pod. What she could find out about him was little; she had found a picture though. He looked odd for a Starfleet officer, for one he seemed to be blind, or at least blindfolded. Other wise he matched the description of her ancestor. She couldn’t understand why anyone would remain blind with the technologies available today. The London on the other hand was an old Excelsior class ship, and from the specs she had brought up it was far passed its prime. At least that is what she understood. But then ship engineering wasn’t really her thing. She was more into the sciences. Apparently there were a few other children on board the ship, so maybe it wouldn’t be too bad. It wasn’t like there was anything here to leave behind.
